boundaries, territory and pooping

I have different boundaries now because I have less territory to defend and control. It used to be that I was responsible for acres of land, almost as far as I could see. That was tough. That took a lot of barking and sending Holly off to investigate intruders like deer and turkeys and coyotes and bears and tigers and stuff. Now all I have to do is to defend our house and a little bit of land right around the house and I even have help there from our neighbors. Next door to us is Chappy. She's a big ol' black labrador that kinda looks like a big seal. She's very relaxed and doesn't move very fast but that's because she's a big girl and doesn't have to move fast for anyone. She controls the territory next door right up to our fence so I don't have to worry about that side.

I kinda like the downsizing, it's easier but Holly misses being able to chase deer and turkeys. The only "turkeys" around here are a pair of rediculous tiny, tiny little dogs who live on the corner who bark and snarl at us from up on their raised deck like we're supposed to be scared or something. We have squeaky toys bigger than they are.

Speaking of pooping (if I wasn't I should have been, pooping's a good topic), Holly and I were taking our male human for a walk recently and she and I both had to stop and poop at exactly the same time. You would have thought that that was the most amazing thing for the way our humans carried on. "Simultaneous pooping". "Only needed one bag". Boy, are some people easily amused.

By the way, we're sending some of our treat money to the ASPCA Disaster Relief Fund to help down south.

I remember one of the first blog entries I read of yours Pimm was about turtles. Do you see any turtles in your new home?

Just wondering,

Cal

Mom says we have plenty of turkeys here in our city, but they are all human and not as much fun to chase.

BTW I think simultaneous pooping should be nominated as an Olympic sport for the next Summer Games. If synchronized swimming can be in there . . .

No turtles, but lots of neighborhood cats.AND Holly has transferred her bunny obsession to turtles. I'll keep an eye out for those turkeys!

Pimm, are you still there? You haven't updated your blog in a while!

Hi IndyPindy,
Thanks for asking. We've been trying to figure out how to handle the blog since I really started writing it as a way to keep my mom updated when she worked away from home 4 days a week. Now that we've moved all in one spot, mom might take the blog over and start postings a bunch of pictures of me from our walks. We'll try to get back on track soon.
love,
Pimm
